Hayley Clarke Gardening Services provides regular garden maintenance, stone walling, lawn maintenance, hedging and much more. We are based in Tavistock, Devon, on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park. We cover Tavistock and its surrounding areas.
We deliver a dependable, honest service with efficiency for all of our customers, new and old. Hayley Clarke Gardening Services has become a reputable and well-known Gardening Service. Our team is up for every job, managing projects with the skill and experience our clients have come to expect. Our Services
Garden Maintenance
The backbone of our regular works comes from our continued garden maintenance contracts. We all like a nice looking garden, but for it to look its best, it needs regular attention throughout the year. Depending on the size and style of your garden, we can provide a tailored service to help fulfil your vision of how you want your garden to look. Within these contracts we can include hedging and weeding, grass cutting, seasonal planting and more, with weekly, fortnightly and monthly visits to suit your gardens needs. With a team of attentive and experienced gardeners, we've got you covered. ​
Stone Walling
As many people in our local are will be aware, dry stone walling is very popular, and has been used extensively on many properties in throughout Tavistock and its surrounding areas. After many requests from customers, I have taken it upon myself to invest in my training as a Dry Stone Waller. I have trained with the Devon Rural Skills Trust on Dartmoor repairing Dartmoor stone walls, I have since trained with the Dry Stone Walling Association in Dorset and throughout Dartmoor with Martin Stallard, a Master Stone Waller. I will also very shortly become a member of the Dry Stone Wall Association myself. Whether you require free standing dry stone walls, stone wall repairs, stone retaining walls or stone faced earth banks, I can provide a free no obligation quotation.
Hedging and Tree Work
We can provide a large range of services regarding tree works and hedging, from basic trimming and pruning to the removal of trees in their entirety. The smaller works are carried out by myself and the team. However, for larger works, we have a long standing working relationships with established tree surgeons in our area that can be called to help. ​
Hedgelaying
I have spent time with Devon Rural Skills Trust learning traditional skills on Dartmoor, skills which are being lost. Although Hedgelaying has become hugely popular within the last few years, there are not so many professionals with the skills to do it properly. I hope that with its resurgence that these skills can be kept alive for generations to come. ​ Hedgelaying is a technique used to create healthier and fuller hedgerows which in time, creates homes for smaller animals, whilst keeping livestock where they are supposed to be.
Lawn care and Maintenance
We provide a full lawn maintenance service to improve the quality of your lawns through the use of feeding rather than applying pesticides. Our products use slow release granules which feed the grass specifically for the time of year. ​ Services range from the application of a feed once a year, to a full scarifying and feed application 2-4 times a year.
Garden Clearance and Re-Design
Some of our customers are looking for a specific garden project to be executed so they can enjoy their garden and maintain it themselves. This also includes pre winter and pre spring garden clearances as well as creating rockeries, small nature ponds, patios and paving.
Re-wilding
Our goal is to work with Mother Nature rather than against her and we have enjoyed working with our customers to bring nature back into our gardens, whether that be the creation of wildlife ponds or wild meadows which will be in their full glory in many years to come.
Garden bark
We supply and deliver garden bark for mulching. Remember that during the winter, we need a low nutritional mulch to tuck the plants up for winter providing a much needed protection from cold weather, as well as using around roses to ensure they are stable and protected from 'wind rock'. Then in the spring we can feed our plants with nutritional rich mulches such as farmyard manure. Our garden woodchip and bark also provides a lovely aesthetic to our flower beds.
Garden machinery maintenance and servicing
We offer full garden machinery repair services for all machinery. Servicing for ride on mowers include new oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, oil change, belts, bearings and belts inspected and changed if necessary. Blades sharpened, deck removed and painted. Machine washed and cleaned. Ride on mowers can be collected to and delivered.
